There is a war coming...
There is a war coming,
I can feel it boiling below the surface.
It will be a war in this once great nation between civil liberties and the far right.
It will be a war that will destroy the government as we knew it,
it will divide this country and it may be the beginnings of an extinction event.
Human extinction!
And at the root of it is Donald Trump and his mind numbingly inept cabinet!

New political project "Brain Cells" Update~
Started working on my next political piece. Called "Brain Cells"
starting on January 20th 2017 it will start counting the number of brain
cells lost because of the sheer stupidity of Trump and his cabinet of
nitwits.
It's a complicated one with 32 Nixie tubes (digital before digital existed), three Ardunio boards to control everything and connect to the internet. Several hundred feet of wire, two power supplies and a few hundred chips, capacitors and resistors.
The Ardunio boards will "listen" to the internet for Trump tweets, his surrogates tweets, check for honesty and deduct brain cells from the count.

Top portion has 18 tubes which represent our brain cells, bottom is the date, and the last row is a 24 hour count down clock.
I hope to have programming complete so it can be turned on, on Inauguration Day.
Let's see how many are left after four years of Trump!
Here are a couple update images, still waiting for 16 circuit boards and a few other materials.

As an artist...
... it is our responsibility to portray and capture what the real world
is like, not just to re-create it by duplication of other art!
Right now we live in an era that will define the entire world for the next thousand years. So the way I see it our descendents can either "see" the truth in what we create or they can read the lies that are told to the masses by the government(s) and press!
And when I say "we" I mean the entire world the things happening now are not only happening to the US but the entire world!

Art is the soul of humanity~
Art is soul of humanity,
passed down from the darkest of ages,
it lifts us up as we turn life's pages,
we relate to one another through its messages.
Art is the history of mankind,
before language,
before text,
paintings on cave walls,
told us how we survived.
Art is the making of a statue,
of guardians and angels,
paintings of devils and sin,
that make us look deep within.
Art is the soul of humanity,
without it we are nothing but animals,
life without beauty and desire,
art is life's burning fire.
While I sit in my studio alone in my thoughts,
I wonder if my art will inspire some,
art gives us life in this wonder of a universe,
when all else is stripped away,
there is nothing but the self!

What would a man do?
I had some time today to go through some of my old note books and found this writing...
I've been asking myself "What would a man do?"
What would a man do given an obsession that has lasted over a year?
The smell of her scent in the air so close, would he reach into her slender neck and breathe her in as if she were a drug?
Wanting to reach up and touch her... feel the softness of her skin under his finger tips. An obsession lasting so long, so many paintings, solvents, dry chapped fingers does it's damage, would he be able to feel her? Would she cringe at the touch of a finger such as these?
Would a man beg for the affections of such an obsession?
Would a man go to the lengths I have to feel her body in mine?
Her eyes have spoken volumes in paintings, now she comes here for a different purpose, she stands in front of him and her scent fills him as he slowly moves around her, getting close enough to feel the nape of her neck, what would a man do, breathe her in like a drug?
