Happy Accidents and Abstracts - Detroit Erotica

I am supper excited to announce that I will be having a solo art show at the Annex Gallery at 333 Midland Street in Highland Park.

Opening is on Saturday May 21st and all days will run from 4pm to 11pm.  On opening day and artist reception I will be serving smoked beef brisket sliders, shrimp shooters and blueberry mini muffins.  And yes all food is going to be prepared by me.

In addition to the above show I will also have a secondary show called Detroit Erotica.

New Piece called Milking Station #7

I have been working on a new piece for the 20th Anniversary of the Detroit Dirty Show coming up in February of 2019.

This piece is called Milking Station #7 and is 24"x24"x2.5".  The entire system is powered by two small medical grade pumps (the green end caps), these are powered by two USB rechargeable battery packs.  The yellow container holds enough liquid to charge the entire line of tubing.  This is without a doubt one of the more involved pieces I've created.

I'll post a final image as soon as it's done.

It's been a while part two...

Things are finally settling down after the move.  My daughter and I closed on the house on June 28th and it has been non stop since!  Below are images of the home and while most of the 1st floor is done we still have painting to do in the foyer and stairwell.  I've also started work on the basement as you can see below.  A quick wall deciding my work room from the game room.   At the same time I required a small studio at 333 Midland which is about 8 minutes away.  Will be doing my painting work there.  It's good to be back in Detroit and its even better to be actively producing art again.

It's been a while, here is what I have been working on...

It's been a while folks and it has been crazy busy.  I'm in the process of buying a house in Detroit with my daughter.  A very cool really 19th century home with some cool history.  The house was built in 1928 and is quite big.  Big being the case I could not justify keeping the studio at 333 Midland so I've moved all of that stuff back to the condo.  We are waiting for the title to clear and are getting excited to get back into the city.

In the meantime I am still working on projects though with things all cluttered here they are in constant motion so I can start one, move it and get another one going.  I am in the process of making a full body male figure in fiberglass for a client, see the images below of the casting process.  I have a new "Made in the D" product coming out soon.  They are hand made/painted leather coasters which will be sold on Etsy and else where. We are working on getting them into a few shops in Downtown Detroit. See images below.

Still producing abstracts and surreal large paintings.  I've started to paint larger as they seem to sell faster and for a larger amount of money.

Several projects are on hold until we get into the new house and I have my workshop setup again.  As soon as we confirm the house is our I will update everyone with the new workspace and painting studio.

Back to work...

Here are a few sample of the leather coasters I am still waiting for the branding iron to arrive which will brand each coaster the "Hand made in the D".
